What To Do With Mind-Archive Interface In Baldur’s Gate 3

In the Necrotic Laboratory, there is a unique device next to a severed head. This guide on What To Do With Mind-Archive Interface In Baldur’s Gate 3 explains the item you need to use on the device to get it to function so you can solve this rather strange puzzle.

There are many devices and technologies throughout Baldur’s Gate 3 that requires specific items to function. Some offer new routes and passages, while others offer greater insight into the world and story. For this particular device, you can use items you have been gathering for a very long time, assuming you haven’t lost them.

The items you are looking for are called “Minds”, although there are several variations of this item. We have found True Mind, Fresh Mind, Closed Mind, Butchered Mind, and the Waking Mind. You can check for them in your inventory, there are glass jars with sharp edges, a green liquid inside, and a brain hidden within the liquid.

You find them throughout the game and each one you find can be placed on the Mind-Archive Interface. There is one nearby, after you solve the brain path puzzle, in the door it unlocks. Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, the Mind-Archive Device appears to be bugged as once a device is placed, attempting to start a conversation with the Slack-Skinned Head freezes the character in place and no conversation takes place.

UPDATE: Closing the game entirely and restarting can fix the issue. You can then use each of the brains.
