Attack Withers Or Answer His Question In Baldurs Gate 3

You encounter Withers in the Dank Crypt, after finding the secret room and opening the Richly Adorned Sarcophagus. In this guide on Attack Withers Or Answer His Question In Baldurs Gate 3, we’ll explain what happens depending on what choice you decide to make.

This is one of those choices that appear to have similar outcomes, whatever route you choose. There is a chance that the choices will have a greater impact later down the line, but in the immediate aftermath of the situation, Withers does pretty much the same thing.

Attack Withers Or Answer His Question In Baldurs Gate 3

If You Choose To Attack Withers
He will tell you to swing away. I tried multiple attacks. Everything from shove to Magic Missiles, but none of the abilities I had access to did any damage. Every hit was 0. Combat doesn’t actually start and Withers does not retaliate. Even if you try to taunt him during the following dialogue, he will not engage. Withers will eventually leave and promise to see you again.

If You Choose To Answer Withers Question
I chose the first response, No one life is worth more than any other. We are all equal. Withers says he is satisfied with that answer and promises you will meet again. It’s possible that the answer here has an impact later in the game. We’ll update the guide once we reach that part.
