Dying Light The Following is filled to the brim with awesome and deadly weapons but few more so than the awesome Twilight Phantom or Master Sword blueprint. This Where to find the Master Sword (Twilight Phantom) Blueprint in Dying Light The Following guide will tell you everything you need to know in order to wield one of the most iconic weapons in gaming, or a homage to one at least.

In order to open the chest that contains the Master Sword (Twilight Phantom) blueprint you need to grab a hacking device. This item is collected through the side quest for the two brothers as you help them build their rocket train. Once you’ve completed the quest chain to the point where the train goes through the tunnel, search the nearby table for the hacking device.

After that you need to head to the location marked below and search underwater, it’s exactly where the blue icon is on the image. Open the chest underwater and you’ll find yourself the Twilight Phantom blueprint.

Freaks are a new type of boss mob that you will encounter in Dying Light: The Following. The Freaks are more advanced versions of the various enemies in the game with large amounts of HP and increased damage. Use this guide to find all the Freaks in Dying Light: the Following!

Dying Light: The Following Freak Location And How To Kill Guide

Holler – Here is Holler’s Location –

Dying Light The Following Holler Location

This is likely the first one you will come across because it is on the path of an early story quest. You will be facing a very large charger called Holler. We did this in Co-op but I think you can do it solo if you are patient enough. The main idea here is to get him to charge you while you are near a door, go inside the door when he charges, power attack twice while he is stunned, and repeat. We used all of our ammo on him and that barely put a dent on the HP and normal attacks did zero. This Freak can be distracted by fire crackers so you can use that to you advantage if things get dicey. I wasn’t able to set him on fire or freeze him but toxic might work, we didn’t have anything with those stats. If you have a Co Op partner this is 20x easier because one can sit at one door and the other can sit at the second door. Take it slow and land a couple of shots each stun and you should waste him. You will get a new blueprint, EXP and some loot for beating Holler.

Beelzebufo – This is a giant spitter zombie boss and you can find him here –

Dying Light The Following Beelzebufo Location

This one isn’t nearly as bad but you do want to watch out for two things. First off there is a toxic puddle that he is sitting in, if you die in that you just die and cannot be revived there. The second is his spit attack which you should be used to dodging by now. There are 4 propane tanks you can use to damage him by tossing them near him and blowing them up. We used Stun Bolts on our crossbow to keep him staggered until he revealed his weak spot. He will start to look like he is about to throw up and then a nasty tongue looking thing will come out of his mouth, that is his weak spot. It is only out for about 5 seconds so do as much damage as you can. You will most likely be at a distance so use strong bolts or a strong gun like a shotgun.

Thor – You can find this freak on the map here –

The Following Thor Location

Thor looks strong but he is actually very easy with the right items. The easiest way to kill Thor is with flammable liquid. We used two on him and we lured him through the lit oil patches and he burned alive in seconds. His oil fires will kill you if you stay in them to long, like you can’t be revived there type thing. With flammable liquid you can turn those fires against him and beat him quick.

We are updating this as we go so check back soon for updates!!

Dying Light: The Following introduces a bunch of anew side quests for you to do for extra EXP and loot. The quests start simple enough but soon get more in-depth and challenging. Check out this Dying Light: The Following Side Quest Guide to get through them with no trouble at all!

Dying Light: The Following Side Quest Guide

It will take you about an hour to get to the first set of side quests.

The Mechanic – You will get this quest from the board at Jasir’s Farm. You will need to go to the Gas Station and meet up with Bilal. This will get you some paint jobs for your buggy. He will also have a second quest for you.

Strange Noises – Another quest you will get from the board at Jasir’s Farm. For this one you will need to go to the park and find out what is making that weird noise. Go to the park and you will see a well. Drop down the well and you will find one of those kid zombies that likes to scream. Take the kid out and then jump into the water and follow the lights. This will lead to the dad who has also been wounded, talk to him to complete this quest and Well That’s A Cave at the same time.

Down The Rabbit Hole – This one is actually pretty tough so if you are going to try it, make sure you are ready. They want you to destroy to Volatile Hive that is located near the Old Gloomy Ridge. In order to clear out a Hive you will need to kill the three nasty looking humanoid things stuck to the ground. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend you do this in co op because it will be hard solo. Clear out the three and then get out.

Buggy Grail – You get this quest from Bilal at his gas station. He wants you to go loot a Silas Truck that is on the highway and return to him with the parts. You can make the jump with you buggy to the platform the truck is on, but it is safer to just jump and warp it there because it becomes a safe house. Talk to the guy in the truck and you will beat the quest, this guy sells buggy upgrades.

Power To The People – This one is a long quest so be ready. You get the quest from Belal after the power goes out in his garage. You will need to collect a power transformer from the tower near where you did the Buggy Grail quest. You cannot use your grapple to climb so you will need to do it the old fashion way. Climb up on the outside and get to the top, if you hold your item sense button you can see what you need to collect. Carefully walk out to it and interact with it to kick it down to the floor. Go down and grab it then head to the power plant to find Ali.

Ali is actually in the middle of the zombie horde but he is protected by some sort of magic chanter, not sure what it is at the moment. He will ask you to go activate the power inside the damn. When you get inside you will be greeted by a mini boss mob who is actually pretty annoying. The only way I could damage him was power attacks so I had to wait for him to charge and stun himself then I would attack. Get a couple attacks in and then back out. It’s an annoying fight but if you got medkits you should make it out after a couple of minutes. Don’t forget to loot him, I got a legendary two-handed axe of him.

Activate the power and then you will need to activate a second power source down below. Go through the hole in the floor and use your grapple to get up on the ledge near the next way point. Turn on the next power source and head out through the sewers. Go back to Ali and protect him while he turns the power back on. There will be a few infected that rush you, take them out and keep Ali alive to win the quest.

Well That’s A Cave – You get this quest from the Bilal quest board at his gas station. You will need to find the creature that keeps stealing food from the survivors. This quest connects with the Strange Noises quest. Go to the park for the Strange Noises quest and jump down the well. Follow the lights through the water and on the other side you will find an exit to the cave. Talk to the guys outside and you will complete the quest.

Heart Of Darkness – You also get this from the Bilal quest board. This is another quest to destroy a Volatile Hive. This Hive has 4 Humanoids you will need to kill, check for the red glows to find them. Use the water as cover if you are taking to much heat. The exit is up on a ledge, you will need to grapple up to get it.

Lazarus – We got this when we returned to Jasir’s Farm after we restored the power. You will have to avenge Ercan’s family by taking down some bandits at his farm. These bandits aren’t messing around so you should do a stealth approach with this one. Use your crossbow and take your time, if you get caught go loud and proud. I had a wicked shotgun at this point so it was pretty easy to overwhelm the bandits.

Drought – We got this when we returned to Jasir’s Farm after we restored the power. The Pump station has been taken over by bandits again and you need to clear it out again. Go up there and try to go inside. The door is locked so you will need to find a way around. Go into the lake and unlock the grate underwater and swim through the pipe. On the other side you will find the bandits you need to kill. Try to open the door to restore the power and the last bandit will come out from down below. Talk to him, kill him and take his cool looking weapon. Once your restore the power you can return for your reward.

Dying Light The following

We Don’t Go There Anymore – This is at Bilal’s Garage after you restore the power at the dam. This one is very hard so I waited until later to start it up. You will need to take out three screamers in the town. One is in a trailer, the other two are in locked houses. Use firecrackers to keep the enemies at bay while you try to pick the doors. Take out the three screamers and return to Bilal to beat the mission.

Going Postal – Another one you can get from Jasir’s Farm after you restore power. Pick up the drawing at Jasir’s desk and you will get the quest. You will need to the post office in the city to do this quest. You can get inside the post office from the roof and find the alarm in the manager’s office on the top floor. While you are there, grab the key to the mail room and go in there. Check all the packages and you will find out the package isn’t here.

Next you will need to find the mail van. Grab the key to the van and check the mail in the mail room to help out. There are two vans you will want to check. The one in the city just has letters in it but they are extra quests so grab them. The second is where the package is. Be careful on your way up because there is a charger waiting up top. I lured him behind a car and then I got the package. Return to Jasir’s Farm to turn the package in and all the letters as well.

Two Roads Diverged – One more you can get at Jasir’s Farm after restoring power for them. You will need to go find Sabit at his hut and find out why he isn’t giving out herbs anymore. You will need the grapple hook to get up to his hut and then you need to break his window to get inside. Drop down under the hut and take the rope down to the cave below. Here you will find Sabit, kill him and then use your grapple to go back up where you came down. Do not go into the hut yet. Instead, under the hut but not quite in the cave, you can find the herbs you are looking for. I would use your survivor sense to help out.

Crash Bang Boom – This quest is at Jasir’s Farm after you are accepted into The Following. You will get it after you leave the farm by roaming around. You will need to find the crashed plane near Jasir’s farm. I took a picture of where we found the plan on the map.

Dying Light Plane Location OnMap

The Thrill Of The Chase – This quest is on the board in Jasir’s Farm after you meet the Mother for the first time. You need to do to Adam’s house to find out about the weapons that are mentioned in the paper. The apartment is in the city and surrounded by Zombies. First thing you want to do is clear out the big tower near the apartment, this has a screamer and it will just keep going if you don’t kill it. After that you will want to go down the ground level of the smaller building and find the shutter you can open. Inside you can find a hatch on the floor that leads under both of the buildings. Follow the path in the back of the area into the apartment and start searching for clues.

There are 4 sets of clues that make up 4 different treasure quests. They are on the paintings, furniture, in closes and on the floor. Use your survivor sense to help you find them in the apartment.

The Thrill Of The Chase: Sea From Way Up – This is in a cave under the lighthouse. If you go to the end of the orange marker on the map, you can drop down into a cave. The entrance is covered with some moss and vines. Go inside, jump down into the water and follow it to the chest with a new gun.

The Thrill Of The Chase: Six Feet Under – This one will take you to the graveyard for a treasure. This is the only weapon you don’t actually get to use. I think the name said Smith but I forgot to write it down when I pulled it back. I took a picture of where I was on the map to help you guys out.

Dying Light The FOllowing Tombstone Location

The Thrill Of The Chase: A Rocky Riverbed – This chest is found under the dead tree on a hill. You will need to grapple up to the top of the hill to find the tree. It is a massive dead tree with some orange and red cloth hanging on it. If you look down you can see some rocks that look like the lead under the tree. Grapple down there and you should see the cave. Take out the screamer and grab the chest.

The Thrill Of The Chase: Wishing Well – This is for the last treasure and it is near where you first met the mother. When you are taking the cave up the mountain, look over the railing to see a pool of water down below. Jump into the water and start swimming down, make sure you flashlight is on. The chest is down there, follow the red blinking plant things.

Run, Bolter, Run – I know I got this from Jasir but I don’t remember when. You have to hunt down a Bolter and get a liver from him. This one is actually pretty annoying because the Bolter spawn is random. You will want to bring stunbolts for your crossbow for this mission as well. You will have to check each nest until a Bolter spawns at one. They spawn in the day now so you won’t have to hunt them at night. When you find one, get 40 or so meters out and take the shot with the crossbow. It should die in a shot and you can grab the liver from there.

The Ties That Bind – You get this from Jasir after meeting The Mother. You will need to go check a farm for Ezgi. She is not there, you need to check the bodies near the car to confirm and then go to their campsite. There are some strong enemies around here to be ready for a fight. When you clear them all out, Ezgi is in the trailer on top of the elevated ground. She will ask you to clear out the nearby tunnel and any remaining enemies in camp, this includes the road near it. Head up to the tunnel and clear that as well, there will be a couple of Volatiles in there. I used my flares and shotgun to take them out.

Secret Project – This mission is from the Twins after you help them with a mission earlier. They will want you to come to their new safe house to talk with them. I forgot what they wanted first but I had way more than enough supplies from the original game and I handed it over. Then the Twins need fuel to do their experiment. I already had 12 but if you don’t check the gas stations and cars on the road for extra fuel. I waited at a safe house a couple nights when they wanted me to wait.

Rocket Waggoon – You will get this from the Twins as you are going the opposite direction of them. They want you to get the fuel line from the air plane that was crashed earlier. Go to the way point and grab the fuel line. Return to the Twins and watch the magic.

Reclamation – In this quest you need to beat the toughest Demolisher named Holler. I’ve found the solution how to beat him fast. You don’t need to have hundreds of grenades or something else like that. Just shoot to his head(better to aim for the face) as many times as possible (I shot approx. 25 times with impact bolt using a crossbow). When you destroy his helmet the Demolisher can be beaten with 15 shots to head, it took about 10 minutes. Thanks to Timur Sheriyazdan for the comment about this one we missed!

We are updating this as we go so check soon for more updates!

Finding out how to access the DLC can be a bit tricky if you don’t know where to look. Check out this guide to find out How To Access Dying Light: The Following DLC!

How To Access Dying Light: The Following DLC

You will need to download a couple of things before you can even start The Following DLC. First of there is an 8 gig patch for the game that you will need to get. This should be MOST of the new content. You need to let that finish and then you need to go the main menu of the game. At the main menu, access the store or go to Extras and go to the DLC tab. From here you will need to download another 2 gigs for the rest of The Following DLC.

When it is all finally completed, go back to the main menu and select the Play option. You can then select The Following and select which character you want to use. If a character hasn’t progressed past the prologue in the main game, you cannot use them. I had that season pass but I assume it is the same with the enhanced edition. You will load in with you current gear and stats, you can also do Co-op right away in The Following.

That should help you get into Dying Light: The Following, check back soon for more Dying Light: The Following Guides!

Dying Light Guide: Old Town Side Quest Guide

Old Town is another area in Dying Light that you will get some side quests in. Some are easy to find and others are hidden throughout the city. This guide will help you find the quests and complete them while you go.

Dying Light Old Town Side Quests

Radio Station – One of two outpost quests you get from Savvy in the Loft. Go to the radio station and on the ground floor there is a wooden wall you can break with a melee hit. Follow that path to the radio station door. After you go inside use your grapple to get on top of the scaffolding and drop in on the edge. Go through the window and start your killing spree. You can actually do some sneaky take downs this time if you have the skill. Ultimately I just ended up using my assault rifle to mow everyone down. Work your way up to the top floor elevator and remember that the hip fire in this game is super accurate.

Office Outpost – The second outpost quest you get from Savvy in the Loft. Head to the outpost and clear out the troops on the outside. I used my assault rifle for this because the troops had guns. Use the elevator to go down deeper into the building. There are about 10 guys in this area that you will need to kill. You have two choices, go hunting or wait for them to come to you. I didn’t want to get over ran so I just want on a killing spree. After you kill the first group more will spawn. After you kill the next wave loot the place and leave.

Fan Zone – Talk to Noah at the Loft to get this quest. Head over to the way point and you will hear a distress message. Go in through the front door and enter the elevator. If the zombies outside are to much for you then use fire crackers to distract them. Once inside grab the key card of the conference room table so you can open the doors. Go through door 2 and head around into the room with the computers and shut the laptop off. Take the elevator down until it stops then climb to the through the hatch. Take the vent and follow it all the way out. Once you drop down make sure you have a gun and unload on the killer. He has some heavy armor so be ready to heal. Once he is dead be sure to loot him for a rare Mod.

Legless Spider – I got this quest while I was exploring the area. Get up to the roof at the way point and talk to the Spider. After you talk to him grab his bag and move to the next way points. Grab each of the Shisha parts near the cash registers. If you run into a screaming enemy go up to it and silence it to stop the screaming. After you get all the pieces head to the David way marker. You will have to kill some thugs around him before you can talk to him. Once you kill all the thugs talk to David to get the next part of the quest.

You will need to collect 5 meteorite shards at the way point. Once you get there turn the lights on and start collecting the rocks. Use the grapple to get up on the rocks easier. If the lights turn off you will have to turn them back on again. One rock is in the water so don’t forget that one. Return to David to complete the quest.

Rais finally takes the fight to the Tower by capturing Zere in The Pit mission. You will have to get into his base and find Zere before it’s to late. This guide will help you get through the missions with no issues at all.

Dying Light The Pit Guide

After all is said and done head over to the Rais compound. The front door will be locked of course so you will need to find another way in. Go around to the right side of the building and use the crashed van to get to climb point. Climb up to until you get onto a platform and then look right for some scaffolding to climb on. Take the scaffolding around and keep following the path until you hit a gap. Be sure to stay low so the guards below you don’t spot you and start shooting. Once you hit the gap look up and jump up the next platform.

Follow that around and jump up to the next platform. Turn around once up there for another jump spot. Keep going until you hit yet another jump point. Finally after that last jump point there is a ladder for you to take. There are a couple of guards on the roof you might want to take out. Make your way to the other side of the roof and you will have your way inside.

Once inside he through the double wooden doors and hit the elevator switch. You will have to pry it open and jump down the elevator cables. Once you reach the bottom you will be in an area with enemies. Kill anyone who gets in your way and use your survivor sense every now and then to find extra loot. If you run into a group of three just use a Molotov to deal with the whole group. Work your way down stairs to find out Zere isn’t in this area. Before you enter the lower levels be sure to search the extra room for guns and ammo.

On the lower level the enemies will have rifles so bring out a gun and take cover. Pick them off with head shots and then move down the ramp. As you progress more enemies will spawn to take cover again and repeat. You will fight a total of three waves with a bonus enemy at the door or Dr. Zere. After the cut scene you will end up in the Pitt.

Once you gain control in the Pitt grab any weapons on the floor and head to the top of one of the containers. Up there you can find some fire crackers and a propane tank. Use the fire crackers to lure the zombies in and the propane tanks to blow them up. You will need to search a few containers for throwing knives as well. There are only two propane tanks story to group as many together as you can before using them. Any that survivor you will have to deal with the old fashion way.

After that you will face off with your first Demolisher. The idea here is to get him to run into something so he is stunned and then strike him a few times. Use your dodge towards the last second of his charge because he can change his direction quickly. After a few hits some runners will come after you as well so kill them while the Demolisher isn’t facing you. He is glitchy as can be and sometimes when you think he hits something he doesn’t so just stay clear until you know for sure. Lure the runners up to the containers and finish them with power hits. It might take you a couple tries but this part is doable.

After the cut scene just start running. The path is pretty obvious just keep jumping and running. If you are lost just keep following the orange dots on your mini map. Once you make it outside go to a safe area to get your items back. You infection will prevent you from running so use firecrackers to distract the zombies while you make your way back to the Tower. Eventually you will pass out and wake up with Brecken.

After that you will get your next story mission.

Where To Find Guns In Dying Light
Guns in Dying Light are few and far between but can be found if you know where to look. Question is would you rather use a melee weapon or an assault rifle? This guide will help you find guns scattered throughout the city of Harran.

Where To Find Guns In Dying Light

As stated above guns are hard to find.

Bandits – Far and away the easiest way for you to get guns is to kill bandits. You can find bandits during a ton of side missions and they will have Assault rifles and high class melee weapons. You can also find them at air supply drops so be sure to check those often. If you have the drop on them toss a Molotov onto them and they will burn to death without you even having to fight them. If you get caught up in a fight with them try to lure them to zombies so they are distracted. If you have the power hit ability they CANNOT block that.

Doing side quests might also lead to bandits with rifles. Any of the quests that say you might have to deal with Rais’ men or bandits could have a gun waiting for you.

Police Vans – This is a great second choice for those of you who don’t have issues lock picking. I put this as two because of the 25+ vans I’ve searched, only 3 had pistols inside. Clear all the zombies in a given area and start to lock pick them. My best advice is to go slow with the picking. Once you get even a slight amount of movement without resistance remember that spot. The very hard locks have a very specific spot you need to use to unlock it. Move it bit by bit until you get the sweet spot and collect your reward. Even if you don’t get a gun these also hold great melee weapons and loot.

Once you get the bonus zip lines you can use them to cross the bridge to the other broken part of the bridge. This spot has about 8 police vans and tons of zombies around. You can use the tent roofs to avoid most the zombies and loot the vans without to much trouble. This is not until later in the game.

Shops – Not a reliable or cheap option by any means but the only spot I’ve found a shotgun so far. When the stores get new stock they will occasionally have guns for sale if you have the cash. I don’t like to buy them but if you have none and this is the only option you have take it. Just be sure you have some extra ammo for the gun or else you will feel like an idiot when you pull it out.

From a Comment left by Zauyrio – To get firearms: Get past “dealing with Rais” main quest storyline, and get up to level 10 (in most things), then they should start dropping in loot crates, police cars (the broken part of the bridge is really, really good for this, especially if you got a friend. Loot transitions over from co-op to single player)

I’m still exploring Harran so if I find a sweet spot with guns I will be sure to update. If any of you know any good spots with guns please leave a comment below.
