At a certain point in the story, you cannot miss it, you are taught how to make Monster Munchies. Once you have the recipe, you can recruit monsters to join your cause. As long as you have Monster Munchies in your inventory when you defeat creatures, they will sometimes offer to join you. You will see the friend icon above their head. Simply feed them the Monster Munchies and they will join you.

Currently, it appears you can only capture monsters on Explorer Islands. We have included information on other locations just in case but so far, we have only tamed monsters on those islands.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 has a number of monsters of identical types with skin or color changes. For example, a Slime is blue whereas a She-Slime is orange.

Below is a table listing the different monsters you can recruit alongside information on their location. Further details, such as images of monsters, can be found inside the games bestiary.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 Ancient Temple Guide

When you arrive there is only one spot to go. Enter the door and go down to the puzzle below. You need to get the red block to the blue tile in the area to open the chest. Use the sand blocks and the red switches on the outside area to move the block into position.

Get the key from the chest and go through the next door. In this hallway there is a second room with three chests, the middle one is a mimic. The next room is another puzzle that you need to complete.

Open the chest and then open the lock on the door. Now clear this hallway and don’t fall down below yet, you want to get to the end to find the statue. Grab the statue and loot the chest. Now, with the statue, leave the room and drop to the area below. Down here there will be a fight and three chests. Open all the chests, one of them has a key inside. Now, use the silver key to open the door and head back up to the center to place the statue. Once the first statue is down, go to the locked gold room near the start and open it with your key. Follow the hallway and there will be a mini boss up ahead. You have to use your hammer to shatter this boss, open the chests after you beat the boss.

Now go through the next door and you will be lead to your final puzzle. I’m not sure if this is how it is supposed to be done, but it worked so here it is.

Grab the chest after and work your way to the next statue. When you get to the faces you can break them if you want, behind the last one is a wall you can bust down. Enter the unlocked door and you will find the second statue. Move it, grab the chest, unlock the door outside, and bring the statue to its pedestal.This will cause them to come to life, use your hammer to smash them to death. Grab the chest that opens after and you can leave the temple.

There are two different primary aspects of Gratitude that you must consider. There is the Isle of Awakening Gratitude, then the other islands. If you spend countless hours farming Gratitude on Furrowfield, it will not carry over to other islands or the Isle of Awakening. It’s a good idea, when on the story islands, to just get the Gratitude you require to level up your village. The Isle of Awakening is where you want to invest your time if you’re farming Gratitude.

How To Get More Gratitude In Dragon Quest Builders 2

There are tons of different room recipes. Whenever a new room is constructed for the first time, you receive a wave of Gratitude from your citizens. When a room is upgraded to a higher level of Fanciness, you are again awarded with more Gratitude. If you assign a room to a citizen, more Gratitude comes in.

On the Isle of Awakening you can spend Gratitude to unlock more recipes. So get to building. It’s a good idea to build one of each room type that you’ve discovered. Especially focus on special sets as these increase Gratitude also. Build each of your civilians a bedroom. Spice it up a Fancy level, assign it to them.

It’s a good idea to built other resource generating buildings such as the Mushroom Cookpot, Toilet etc. Combining all of those is the best way to get Gratitude fast.

There are not a lot of variations of healing items in Dragon Quest Builders 2. Most food heals a certain portion of your HP but it’s not ideal to be wasting valuable food when your hunger meter is sitting at 100%. As such, Medicinal Herbs are the best items to find to heal.
