Kill The Outsider
If you want to Kill the Outsider, it’s pretty simple. Head through the level, killing or avoiding enemies until you reach The Ritual Hold. You can skip the optional objectives as they are only required if you want to Release the Outsider. When you get to The Ritual Hold simply choose the option to kill The Outsider. Once you kill him Daum and the protagonist share a brief thought of how killers never change before the final cut-scene. This is a more negative and somber ending than the alternative.

Release The Outsider
Releasing The Outsider takes a little more work. When you enter the level progress through until Malchiodi’s Safe is highlighted as an optional objective. Once it is, head to the safe and open it to give the new option of releasing The Outsider. There’s a puzzle to solve so I won’t spoil it but if you want the code, check out our Safe Code guide. If you decide to release The Outsider you will need speak with Daud a couple of times. Eventually you will free The Outsider and Daud will be gone. The Outsider returns to his life as a mortal man and the overly ending seems positive.

Unlike the Black Market in mission 2, there’s no code to access this specific shop. Instead you need to be a little creative with your approach. Head towards the Black Market but instead of going in the house on the ground floor, look up. You’ll see some pipes leading up to a balcony with an opened window.

Once you’re in the room at the top you need to use Foresight to travel through the vent near the rats – it’s by the locked door that leads into the Black Market. Once through the vent place a Displace point in clear view of the main window. Then jump back outside and go down to the bottom floor, working your way up through to the normal Black Market entrance. Once inside you can use your Displace to teleport through the glass. You can now loot the area, kill the shopkeeper, take the key, or whatever you want.

Dishonored Death Of The Outsider Black Market Door Code

Once you are inside navigate to the other side of the door and you will see the code written on the wall next to the door. For me the code was 398. Once inside you can loot all of the items the Black Market has for sale as well as some other items hidden in the room.

As with previous Dishonored games, Dishonored Death Of The Outsider features a number of goodies locked away in a safe. Most of the missions contain at least one. Sometimes there’s a nearby clue or puzzle you have to solve, other times you don’t get the information until later in the level. Below is a list of every safe we have discovered so far and the combination to access it.

Dishonored Death Of The Outsider Safe Combination Guide

Mission 1 Safe Combination: 451
Location: When you get the hint about the nearby Bone Charm, it’s in a room above you. Back out of the sewer like area and climb up the pipes to enter through a window.
Clue: You find the clue in the bathhouse later. You count the books above the guys desk in his house.

Mission 2 Safe Combination: N/A
Location: This can be found inside Shan Yun’s house, you have to enter for the story. You can learn the secret knock in the florists shop.
Clue: There is a room inside his house with an electrified floor. Disable the traps by using a Whale Oil container that can be found in a nearby room with a breakable door. Once the traps are disabled loot the Release Thy Golden Locks, Gloriana item from one of the glass cases, it’s a musical note that you place in the music devices. Head to the top floor and use it on the Audiograph to open the safe.

Mission 3 Vault Safe Combinations: From left to right as you enter – 011, 235, 813, 455, 891
Location: This is at the very end of the bank mission, inside the vault with 6 different safe’s.
Clue: Found this one on Reddit.

Mission 3 Lockerbox Safe Combinations
Christofer Jeorge Safe: – 379
Morgan Yu Safe: 315 (Gem is for a Contract)
Luigi Galvani Safe: 287 (The day Dr Galvani met Anton Sokolov on the 28th Day of the Month of High Cold)
Location: Inside the bank. After you reach the Atrium and disable the electrified fences, take the elevator down to the Lockbox level. There are 3 safe’s in the room with the security chief.
Clue: Dr Galvani’s safe is his birthday. 315 is the amount of coins Morgan Yu had at the bar. 379

Mission 5 Malchiodi’s Safe Combination: 962
Location: Marked as an optional objective during the final mission
Clue: Symbols on the wall give you the code

As soon as you start Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider you are introduced to Contracts via a tutorial prompt. Once you are on the boat, check the desk for a piece of paper that you can pick up. Pick up the piece of paper, this unlocks the Contracts for your next mission.

Contracts are single use missions. Meaning if you fail, you fail. There’s no second chances.

Dishonored Death Of The Outsider Contract Guide – Mission 1

Burn The White Hound Contract

Head to the location marked on your screen. There’s two normal hounds and the White Hound inside a cage. Kill them all and press the red button to open the cage. Pick up the body of the White Hound and a new objective marker appears, return to the furnace room and drop the body inside the furnace. Close the doors and push the red button to burn the corpse.

Industrial Espionage Contract

Continue through the mission until you reach the bathhouse. Once inside there is a locked door. You can pay 100 Gold to open it, or just enter from a closed window outside. Loot the nearby enemy and grab his key. There’s some drawers near the sink. Open those to find the recipe. Then destroy all the rat bottles in the area to complete the contract.

Dishonored Death Of The Outsider Contract Guide – Mission 2

When you begin Mission 2 you don’t have any Contracts initially. You need to head to the Black Market and interact with the notice board to gather the Contracts for this mission.

Kidnap The Bartender

In order to access the bar where the Bartender is you need to go The Red Camellia. Just outside The Red Camellia is a vent you can use your Foresight on to enter. Go inside and place a Displacement marker the other side of the door and then use Displace to travel through the glass in the door. Once inside use the tattoo machine to ink yourself. Once you have the tattoo they will let you through the door. Knock out the bartender and pick up him. A new objective marker appears on the map. Take his body to that location and throw it inside the crate.

Death To The Mime

This one took ages but it’s actually relatively easy. Go up to the Mime and speak with him as many times as you can. Eventually he will get pissed off and the two spectators get offended and leave. Once nobody is in the area knock him out and a new objective appears, Dead Mans Bluff. Take him to that objective, toss him over the edge and the Contract is complete. Be careful. There is a fisherman down by the suicide point, if anyone sees you with the body, the Contract is failed.

Workplace Harassment

Head to the bank and you will see the Racketeer talking to the Bank Teller. Use your scope to hear the conversation. Once she has finished she will leave the bank. You need to follow her without being seen until she meets up with her associate. She goes to a bench outside the bar. Kill them both to complete this contract.

The Missing Brother

Head to the bar and go up to the top floor where the objective marker is. You will find the guys brother hooked up to a machine. Break the machine by attacking the glass, pick up the body and then take it to the new objective marker.

Rags to Riches To Rags

You need to locate a Gem inside a lockbox. The lockbox can be found within the bank. Proceed with the main story until you reach the Vault on the lower level. In a nearby 3 are 3 lockboxes. You need to break into Morgan Yu’s lockbox. The code is 315.

Quiet As A Mouse

You need to get a copy of page 125 from a book. This mission doesn’t start until you actually enter the bank, it’s easiest if you enter from the rooftop, using the Poppy Juice on the funnel so that all the guards inside are knocked out. Once inside head to the objective marker, but you cannot harm a single guard. This includes non-lethal takedowns. You need to get through to the Atrium first, disable the electrified fences and then proceed to the top level to find the book. You also need to escape without being seen so make sure you create plenty of backup save files as it’s a tricky one.

The Art Connoisseur

You need to steal a painting off a boat. You can find the boat on the canal near where you killed the Mime. There’s two civilians trying to break in. Use Foresight to get through the bars on the outsides of the boat and then Displace to get into the boat, you don’t need the key. Loot the painting to complete this Contract.

Pickpockets Delight

There’s an Elite Guard on Cadmus Abele Plazza in Upper Cyria. You need to pickpocket a note without anyone noticing you. It’s quite a difficult one. There’s a small metal encased room to the left above the stairs, if you haven’t disturbed him the guard is inside. You can Displace to the top, open the hatch, drop down and loot the letter without getting scene.

Alvaro And The Abbey

You need to enter the Abbey and kill every Blind Sister and Overseer but leave Brother Cardoza alive and place him in one of his musical chairs. As you enter the Royal Conservatory you’ll reach a small courtyard with a metal sculpture. Two guards talk about a vent before one goes to inspect it, follow that guard and enter the building through the vent. Follow the objective marker through the rooms until you reach it, this is the chair that you need to place Brother Cardoza in. Keep exploring the Abbey until you come across Brother Cardoza. He’s easy to spot, working in a room dissecting a corpse. Knock him out and return him to the chair. From there you need to kill every Blind Sister and Overseer in the area. I spent 45 minutes searching, found none but the Contract was still not complete. Likely some secret areas you’ll have to dig through.

Pilfer The Prophecies

You’re tasked with infiltrating the Royal Conservatory to steal a specific book. It’s a pretty simple mission. Head inside the Royal Conservatory and find the elevator. It’s broken. You need to climb the stairs to the top of the elevator shaft, drop into the elevator from above and you’ll find the book inside.

A Risky Wager

You need to recover a special item abandoned inside an apartment. Head to the objective marker, it’s a few floors up but there’s balconies and pipes you can climb to reach the exterior entrance. There’s a trip wire on the door and other traps scattered throughout the apartment. Once inside you need to Displace up to the next level but be careful, there’s a LOT of tripwires up the top. Loot the safe for the Contract item.
