Thankfully, it’s much easier that past objectives you’ve had to figure out. No huge travel distance, no big surprise, simply return to your Private Room.

Return to any location with a “Private Room”
Once inside a Private Room, interact with Fragile’s Umbrella (the fast travel icon)
Once you have interacted with the umbrella, Fragile appears and you can progress.

After you arrive at the new Knot and you deliver the materials, Die-Hardman will tell you that you must find a way to cross the Tar Belt so you can continue to expand the network. However, there is no obvious or apparent way to cross, swimming is not the option here.

Find A Way To Cross The Tar Belt In Death Stranding

There is a small clue in the form of an in-game mail you get discussing the potential for the Tar to act as a gateway between both sides, with witnesses previously recording incidents when entire buildings and structures reemerged from the Tar unscathed.

Head South West of the Chiral Relay, to the peninsula. There’s a lot of debris here, wrecked ships and so forth. It’s also a BT hotspot. Run around the area until the BT’s grab you but don’t try to shake them off, let them take you. You will be transported into the middle of the Tar Belt and buildings will begin to emerge. From there just continue running out to sea, following the buildings that pop up until you reach the end.

That’s how you get across the Tar Belt in Death Stranding.

The final moments of Death Stranding leave Sam with a choice, but that choice isn’t clear. This guide tells you What To Do On The Beach At The End Of Death Stranding, if you don’t make the correct choice, you cannot progress. During a lengthy talk with one of the other characters you’re given a choice. After the cut-scene plays out, there’s a gun in your hand and seemingly only one option.

This is during Episode 13, when you pause the game you will have the objective “Order No.69 Go to Her Beach” and “Stop the Extinction”. In order to progress through to Episode 14 and complete Episode 13, you must do the following.

Run up to her and put your weapon away, you can do this by pressing Right on the D-Pad. When you are close, an option pops up on screen. Press “R2” to hug. Complete that action and you will be able to progress further into Episode 13.

One objective in the story involves Lockne and her sister, Mama. This guide explains How To Change Lockne’s Mind In Death Stranding as it’s a very open ended objective and if you miss the email giving a potential clue, you may find yourself running around aimlessly.

After you make the perilous journey to Mountain Knot City, you meet Lockne. She expresses her disdain at the Bridge’s, and tells you she is unwilling to join the network. You then receive a call explaining the importance of Lockne’s, and Mount Knot Cities, involvement in the network. You’re told to solve the problem.

How To Change Lockne’s Mind In Death Stranding

You need to speak with Mama. However, she’s not exactly nearby. Due to Mountain Knot City not joining the network, you cannot use the Private Room or fast travel from that location. Check your map, you may be lucky enough to have a Private Room built nearby. If not, you will need to travel to the Distribution Center North of Mountain Knot City to use that Private Room and fast travel function to travel to South Knot City.

From South Knot City, it’s a short walk to Mama’s Lab. After a brief cut-scene, you will have to transport her back to Mountain Knot City, yeah, all the way back. You cannot fast travel while Mama is your companion.

How To Build Roads In Death Stranding

Roads are hugely useful for you and other players in Death Stranding but how do they work? This guide explains How To Build Roads In Death Stranding, allowing you to make travel between two locations much easier, faster, and safer, for you and other players that share your world.

Unlike many of the other structures in Death Stranding, Roads cannot be freely built. They are constructed much in the same way, requiring different materials in order to make, but you cannot place one with a PCC. You are not able to build roads anywhere, only in pre-determined locations you discover on your travels.

How To Build Roads In Death Stranding

You need to look for a very specific node, as shown in the image above. These are the deployment structures for Roads. Approach the device and hold the “Options” button to interact with the buildings functions.

Here you can see the required materials needed to fully build the road. If you check your map, you can see a rough outline of where the road will lead. Sometimes it covers a huge distance and 1-2 nodes is enough to bridge the gap between two cities. Others, require several roads to be constructed.

During one particular Order, when you drop in your goods, a strange man gives you another package. He claims there was a mishap with the labeling of the package, confusing the software of the compound on whether or not the package was a Bridge package or a Fragile package, examine the package and you learn the truth is far darker.

Where To Find Fragile In Death Stranding

If you take the package to the final city of the area and follow the story, it explodes on your arrival and immediately ends your game. It saved just before entry for me, so you should be okay. Fragile is at the Distribution Center South of Lake Knot City. You must speak with her there before progressing. She can be found inside your Private Room.

Conan is tucked away quite a distance into the main story. I was about 20 hours in before I encountered his location. You must first follow the main story until you take a boat across the sea to the new location. Once you arrive in Lake Knot City, you must continue with the main story for some ways.

Eventually the main story will send you to South Knot City, it is during this part of the story you can find Conan O’Brien. Charging vehicles and repairing vehicles are two different things. In this guide we tell you How To Repair Rust Vehicles In Death Stranding as each vehicle has different durability types that you need to worry about. Ignore any one particular type, and you may be left stranded without any wheels.

Repairing your vehicle or removing its Rust is done much in the same way as storing vehicles in Death Stranding. As you drive a vehicle it can take damage, run out of battery, or begin to rust from the Timefall rain. Letting any of these issues occur for too long can result in your vehicle breaking down.

How To Repair Rust Vehicles In Death Stranding

The only way to repair your vehicle and remove the rust is to store the vehicle. You cannot repair a vehicles rust damage using a Generator or Repair Spray. Drive to any location with a working garage and park on the area you use to visit your Private Room, the small circular platform that descends into the complex.

Then activate the nearby Terminal and use the Garage to store your vehicle. This fully repairs the vehicle. Any cargo at the time of storage is moved into a Private Locker at the same location.

Want to save a vehicle for another time or repair the rust? This guide explains How To Store Vehicles In Death Stranding as although it’s a very simple concept, the game doesn’t explain it very well and certain vehicles cannot be stored.

Storing vehicles has several different purposes in Death Stranding. You can store a vehicle and save it for later, saving you precious resources so you don’t have to fabricate another vehicle. Other players can use vehicles stored by you this way (It doesn’t take your vehicle though), and it’s the only way to repair rust and durability of vehicles. You can only store vehicles you have fabricated, you cannot store MULE vehicles or others you may find.

How To Store Vehicles In Death Stranding

Storing vehicles is easy. Head to a Distribution Center, or anywhere with a working garage, and drive your vehicle inside. You want to park the vehicle on the circular pad, the same pad you use when you enter your private room.

Once the vehicle is correctly parked, interact with the machine the same way you do when you need Orders. Go to the “Garage” option, select the vehicle in question, and then select Store Vehicle. That will store the vehicle in the garage for that location.

Any items in the vehicle at the time of storage will be placed into your Private Locker, so don’t forget to fill your truck up again before leaving.

How To Use Floating Carriers In Death Stranding

Floating Carriers help you transport huge cargo over long distances but the game doesn’t explain How To Use Floating Carriers In Death Stranding. Once they are unlocked, you can equip it and stack it with tons of cargo and use it to transport stuff across any terrain.

Once you reach the Weather Station in the Death Stranding story, you will be given access to a new item to Fabricate, the Floating Carriers. You can equip up to two at once to begin with, each can hold a ton of weight and they don’t tumble or get stuck on terrain as long as you don’t fall.

How To Use Floating Carriers In Death Stranding

Once you have made a Floating Carrier, using one is simple. Open your inventory. You can then either put it into your hand or you can choose the “Offload” option. Either way, this drops the Floating Carrier onto the floor.

Close your inventory, then open it again. You can now highlight items and transfer them to the Floating Carrier. Be careful before you run off, you need to approach the Floating Carrier and press Square to attach it to Sam. Once attached, it will remain attached unless you detach it. Or tumble off a cliff.
