One of the starting quests in Dauntless asks you to craft one of two lanterns. This guide will explain How To Craft The Shrike & Skarn Lanterns In Dauntless as while it’s a very simple process to craft, it doesn’t actually list the names of the items required.
During the tutorial part of the game you will speak with Arkan Drew for the quest Light The Way. This quests ask you to make either a Shrike or a Skarn lantern. Don’t worry, you don’t have to make a choice, whatever lantern you decide to craft, you can always craft the other lantern afterward, if you wish.
How To Craft The Shrike & Skarn Lanterns In Dauntless
In order to craft the Shrike Lantern, you need some gold and another item, Torn Shrikefeather. While it may be possible to get this when injuring the Shrike, I personally only received the item after defeating the Behemoth and completing the hunt. Get a group, take down the Shrike, that should be enough to get you the Shrikefeather.The other lantern, the Skarn Lantern, requires similar materials. Gold and one other item. The other item is Rockscale. You get this from defeating a Skarn, and also as a potential additional reward for not getting downed.
