I think it takes 5-6 sips of his poison drink to die, but you need to poison the cup twice. If you see the orange buff under him that gives him more stress damage, placate him to remove it. This only worked once for me, but it was enough to avoid that extra stress damage.

• Start them mission
• Back away from the enemy
• Heal stress and wait for opening
• When the cart loses its buff use your poison
• Heal your stress and wait
• Placate if needed, but focus on healing stress
• Wait for the cart to lose the buff and poison him again

Now you play the waiting game. After he berates you some more his guard will lower and you will get the shot to poison his drink again. After you do it a second time, heal your stress and wait. He will literally drink himself to death and you will win the fight and the mission.

The Dark Impulse is dropped from Cultist & Cosmic battles in the game. When you collect one it simple reads “Vague Trinket. Unlocks the potential of Cultist Trinkets”. As you have probably guessed, this Trinket is actually entirely useless by itself, you will need other trinkets to activate it.

Darkest Dungeon 2 Dark Impulse – What Is It For?

Th Dark Impulse requires other Trinkets to work. When you discover another Trinket it will specifically state, in the Trinkets description, that it requires the Dark Impulse Trinket to expand. These are all Cultist related Trinkets, so if you don’t fight the Cultists very often, it’s unlikely that you will encounter the other Trinkets you need.

So if you only do a single Cultist fight an entire run, it’s very unlikely you will ever use Dark Impulse. However, if you are constantly fighting the Cultists, hold on to the Dark Impulse Trinket and eventually, with a bit of luck, you’ll get a Trinket that benefits. It’s clearly labeled in the description, so you will know it when you see it.

• The Dark Impulse is a Vague Trinket in Darkest Dungeon 2
• By itself, it does nothing but take up a slot in your inventory
• It is one of many possible random rewards for defeating Cultist & Cosmic battles
• Other Trinkets that drop from Cultists become much more powerful when equipped alongside the Dark Impulse

When you are exploring the overworld in your carriage, look out for the Bell icon on the map. These Heroic Events offer both, the opportunity to unlock new abilities and a deeper insight into the characters history. If you fail a challenge, you will not unlock the ability, and will have to find another Heroic Event. As such, it’s a good idea to complete them first time – if you can.

• To complete Ghosts of the Past you must survive until the end and kill all of the spirits
• You can take a lot of regular hits but too many critical hits and you will die quickly
• Use the Pour One Out ability to remove critical buffs on enemies
• Rest in Peace does a lot of damage so use that to weaken the enemies
• If your sanity gets too low, use the Honor the Dead – an enemy must have died for this to be available

Darkest Dungeon 2 Ghosts Of The Past Guide

If your sanity gets too high, you can use the Honor the Dead ability to reduce it by three, but an enemy must have died for this ability to be available, so finish one off quickly.

Each of the characters in Darkest Dungeon 2 have a series of chapters that must be completed in order to unlock new combat abilities. When you are exploring the world look out for the bell icon. These are called Hero Shrines. When you visit a Hero Shrine you can pick a character with whom you wish to advance, unlocking the next chapter on their personal journey.

Darkest Dungeon 2 A Leader Of Men Guide

In the battle the general has three main abilities but you want to ignore the first one, Attack. The goal of this mission is to fail by reaching maximum sanity, so that your character goes insane. This is to represent what happened on the battlefield. To do this, you simply need to survive. Start off with Inspire to move your character further down the line and mix up your allies as well as stunning them. When the option appears to do “I Don’t Know” use that to basically skip a turn.

Every time one of your allies dies, you lose some sanity, so you want them to die as quickly as possible. You can also use Strategic Retreat and select an ally, they will become Vulnerable, taking 50% more damage. Use this when you can. This will allow your allies to die faster so that you can fill up your sanity meter quicker.

• To complete A Leader of Men you need to reach maximum sanity and go insane
• You do this by avoiding damage and using abilities that hinder your allies
• Use Strategic Retreat often to open up your allies to 50% more damage

Can You Sell Items And Trinkets In Darkest Dungeon 2?

The short answer on if you can sell items or not is no. You cannot sell items or trinkets in Darkest Dungeon 2 currently. If you go to the Inn, Hoarder, or any other shop you will get no options to sell. Now that isn’t to say this won’t change down the line, the game is in early access after all. But currently, there are no options to sell items, only get rid of them. It is possible there is an event I just haven’t seen yet that allows you to sell trinkets, but it’d be very rare if I’ve missed it so far.

You can help make room by equipping combat items and dropping old trinkets you won’t be needed anymore. The higher rarity ones you might want to hold onto, in case you need that extra resistance for certain fights or not. Then if you add extra storage to your caravan you can hold even more and the selling thing isn’t as big of a deal.

How To Unlock All Heroes In Darkest Dungeon 2

In order to unlock all the characters you are just going to have to play. As you play you gain hope, and hope it tallied at the end and used to increase your profile rank. Get enough hope and you will unlock the character for that rank. For instance once you get to rank 3 you will unlock the Hellion, one of the best classes in my opinion. Certain classes from the last game are not currently in, but I assume they will be added down the line.

• Play the game
• Earn Hope
• Hope raises your profile rank
• Rank 3 unlocks Hellion
• Rank 6 unlocks Runaway
• Rank 9 unlocks Jester
• Rank 12 unlocks Leper
• Rank 15 unlocks Occultist

You earn hope by completing certain missions, defeating enemies, progressing with your wagon, keeping the torch lit, and helping people along the way. Basically, the longer you go, the more hope you will bring back with you at the end, or when you die. Just remember that it’s about making it as far as you can, not bringing back as much hope as you can.

How To Cure Stress In Darkest Dungeon 2

Stress is hard to heal because only a couple of skills can help. Your first options are the Plague Doctor and the Man-At-Arms. If you use your first point to upgrade the Plague Doctor’s Ounce Of Prevention skill then it will take away one stress every few turns. It does have a cool down, so you can’t spam it, but it always works.

The Man-At-Arms also has one if you upgrade the skill Bolster. This one can be used more often but only has a 50% chance of removing stress from anyone. When you get a few extra point you should pick this one up, but I’d start with the Plague Doctor to make it easier on yourself. You’ll need the Man-At-Arms protecting and attacking.

• Get a Mastery Point
• Upgrade Man-at-Arms or Plague Doctor
• Upgrade skill Ounce Of Prevention
• Upgrade skill Bolster
• Use these in combat to cure stress
• Use items at the Inn to help heal as well

You should also be using and buying stress heals at the inn. You aren’t bringing any of these items out with you, use them if you have them. Just watch out for the side effects, the dart board likes to break people wrists.

How To Use Combat Items In Darkest Dungeon 2

When you have some combat items, you need to equip them two your characters. Each character can only hold one, so be sure to pick what you need, or just what you have. Go to the characters inventory by right clicking them and then open up your inventory with i. In the top left of the character side of the inventory you can see three little tabs. Click the Combat Skills tab and you can see an empty slot.

• Find A Combat Item
• Open inventory and character inventory
• Go to Combat Skills tab on character sheet
• Select combat item
• Drag item to empty slot
• It will be available to use in combat

Grab the item from your inventory and drag it into that slot. Do it for the rest of the characters and you can use them in combat. They will be at the end of your skill bar and they do NOT take a turn to use. So you can use these and then attack, or heal, or whatever you want to do. This is also how you would go about equipping trinkets as well. Open both inventories and drag the trinkets down to the trinket slots on their character sheets.
