They are very easy to spot. Large, sharp, crystals protruding out of the ground. They are usually found in clusters, having several in a very small area. You can break them at range with a gun or up close with melee. While ammo isn’t incredibly limited in Outbreak, it’s still a valuable resource. As such, it’s best to destroy the crystals with melee as you need to be close to pick up the rewards anyway.

There are several items you can get when breaking crystals. You will often find Salvage. Salvage is a resource that can be spent in two different places. You can use it on a Crafting Table to craft various bits of equipment but you will get more value saving your Salvage to upgrade your armor before you warp to the next area or Exfil in Outbreak.

There is also a small chance of looting Zombie Essence, which is both your score and currency in Outbreak. Finally, you can also get weapons and other bits of equipment, but this is very rare.

What To Do With Zombie Essence In Call Of Duty Zombies Outbreak

These perks will disappear if you get knocked down, so be careful. They also increase the price of the perks each time you buy a new one, so make sure you buy the one you want the most first. If you find the mystery box, you can use your Zombie Essence to roll for a weapon there. If a weapon pops out that you don’t want, melee it to make it open to anyone so they can grab it. No point in wasting the points if someone else wants the gun. All of this will open up near the beacon after you complete the main objective of the level, so you can wait until then to upgrade.

Salvage is a very common item. It can sometimes be dropped by killing zombies but it’s rare. It’s much more common to find it when killing Special Zombies or Elite Zombies. You can also find Salvage when completing objectives, as rewards, or frequently when opening chests and other world events that occur when you are exploring the new maps in Outbreak

What Is Salvage For In Call Of Duty Zombies Outbreak

This is where you use your Salvage. You can craft a variety of useful tools and items here. These can often be the difference between life and death, so don’t be afraid to hit up the crafting station before you warp to the next area or Exfil home.

• Salvage is used for crafting
• Crafting tables are marked on the map by a hammer and screwdriver icon
• Salvage can be gathered from chests, special zombies, elite zombies, and completing objectives
• Interact with crafting tables to use Salvage and craft a variety of powerful and useful items
• Salvage is carried across and remains with you between rounds within the same game.
• Salvage is used to upgrade armor, which is very valuable

Special Zombies are unique zombies that act differently to regular zombies. They have special attacks and abilities, providing a unique challenge depending on the Special Zombie you’ve found. They have much higher health than normal zombies, don’t spawn as often, and provide better rewards, so they are worth killing.

Where To Find Special Zombies In Call Of Duty Zombies Outbreak

There are two types of distinct zombies apart from the regular ones. Special Zombies and Elite Zombies. Special Zombies are far more common and much easier to take down. When you are exploring the map, Special Zombies spawn frequently and can easily be found by looking for skull icons on your radar.

Different Special Zombies have different abilities, making them stand out clearly, even when surrounded by hordes of regular zombies. As such, they are easy to discover, and only require some basic team work and a decent aim to take down. However, as you increase the difficulty by completing stages and warping in Outbreak, Special Zombies do become far more powerful and difficult to take down

• Special Zombies spawn frequently on all maps.
• When you are exploring the area, be sure to check for skull icons on the rader
• Normal skull icons are special zombies
• Red skull icons are Elite zombies
• Killing special zombies rewards you with more rewards than regular zombies.

How To Find The Beacon In Call Of Duty Zombies Outbreak

When you use the anomaly you will then get two choices, exfil or teleport. If you choose to teleport, you will be warped to the next area and the game will get harder. You will have to complete the objective there in order to leave or warp again. If you choose to exfil, you will be leaving with what you have. This isn’t as easy as it sounds. You need to clear the landing zone of all enemies before you can escape. If the timer runs out then you lose. A magical rocket takes the chopper down and you are left to rot.

There are two different types of Special Zombies in Call of Duty Zombies Outbreak. Special Zombies and Elite Zombies. Special Zombies are marked by a skull icon on your map and Elite Zombies are marked by a skull icon with a red background. The two different types are much in the same. They are very powerful zombies with increasingly powerful abilities as you continue to progress through the various levels.

Where To Find Elite Zombies In Call Of Duty Zombies Outbreak

Elite Zombies are much more powerful and harder to find than Special Zombies. Whenever you finish a primary objective on a map, the objectives marked by the star icon, there is a small chance that an Elite zombie will appear on the map. They are very hard to miss and most of them have travel powers, allowing them to chase you down at incredible speeds, making them hard to avoid once encountered.

There are also some special objectives, marked by a star icon on your map, that require you to take out a specific high powered target. These are usually Elite zombies, so these are a great way to find, locate, and kill the 10 Elite zombies required to complete the challenge.

• Elite zombies can be found randomly when exploring
• There is a small chance Elite Zombies spawn when you complete an objective
• Certain objectives will spawn Elite enemies for you to kill
• You must be involved in the fight and alive for the kill to count for your personal stats

The Exfil action is an optional action but one worth taking. If you decide not to Exfil and die, you will not gain additional rewards. However, if you can understand the limitations of you and your team, you can choose to Exfil and receive additional rewards based on how far you progressed and how many objectives you’ve completed.

How To Exfil In Call Of Duty Zombies Outbreak

Using the Exfil point is much like using the Warp point. When you first arrive in a new location you will immediately be given a new objective, marked by a star icon on the map. These objectives vary and are different based on the map you’re on and the current difficulty level, as well as how far you have progressed. It’s always a good idea to Exfil if your team struggled on the last map.

Once you have completed the primary objective for the level, you will see another objective appear, the Anomaly. Interact with this objective and you can select warp to transfer to a new map, increasing the difficulty and progressing with the campaign. Or you can choose Exfil, which summons a helicopter. You must survive long enough to reach the helicopter, clear the Exfil site of all enemies within the time limit, and then escape the area to complete the run and earn bonus rewards.

• Complete the major objective on the map (star icon)
• Reveal the Anomaly and locate the beacon (star icon)
• Interact with the Beacon and select Exfil
• Reach the Exfil location (helicopter icon)
• Clear the Exfil location of all enemies within the time limit

The new Call of Duty Zombies Outbreak update for Season 2 drastically changes and improves the Zombie mode. The new Outbreak mode features several large-scale, open-world areas where you’re tasked with both map specific objectives, and wider challenges and objectives in daily and weekly challenges. One such challenge, and one part that’s vital to Outbreak, is warping. Warping allows you to progress to the next area.

How To Warp In Call Of Duty Zombies Outbreak

When you first load into a Call of Duty Zombies Outbreak map, look for the star icon on your map. That is the current objective for this specific location. These can vary, from defending locations to destroying special zombies. Once you have completed the objective for the location, the star icon will change to another, an Anomaly.

Track down the Anomaly and when you arrive, you will see a small purple mist-like object. Approach it and interact with it to summon the Beacon. The Beacon represents the end of the area. You will spawn Pack-A-Punch, Drinks Machines, all the stuff required to upgrade guns, weapons, perks, etc. You also spawn a Beacon.

You can then interact with the Beacon to Warp or Exfil. If you Warp, you will get a new map and a brand new objective. If you Exfil, you will get additional rewards for surviving based on the amount of objectives and locations you have completed.

• Follow the Star icon objective marker
• Complete the objective fully
• Track the next objective to the Anomaly
• Summon the Beacon
• Interact with the Beacon and select Warp

Following this routine is similar to how you Exfil in Outbreak.

In the original version of Zombies in Cold War, players were able to farm Raw Aetherium Crystals to increase gear from Tiers 1 through to Tier 3. With the release of Season 2, and the new Call of Duty Zombies Outbreak mode, players are able to vastly improve their gear through overcharging skills to even higher levels, unlocking skills in Tier IV and Tier V. Now, however, you can farm Refined Aetherium Crystals and Flawless Aetherium Crytals.

How To Get Refined Aetherium Crystals & Flawless Aetherium Crystals In Season 2

The reward system for the new Refined Aetherium and Flawless Aetherium remains much like the original Raw Aetherium, just slightly more challenging. In the original Zombies mode, you received a Raw Aetherium for surviving 10 rounds of zombies spawning and trying to kill you. In Outbreak, this system has evolved to reward an Aetherium Crystal for completing a single experiment, and then an additional Aetherium Crystal for managing to successfully extract, which is more challenging than it sounds.

When you load into a new map in Outbreak you will immediately see an Experiment on your map. These are the main objectives, marked by a star icon on the screen. They can involve taking out high value targets, escorting a drone, defending a location, there’s a good variety. Each time you complete an Experiment, you are rewarded with Aetherium Crystals. Once you have completed an Experiment, you can warp to a new area or Exfil.

If you warp, you will go to a new area with a new experiment and increase the world difficulty. If you successfully Exfil, you will get additional Aetherium Crystals depending on difficulty. for example, if you finish the first experiment and then Exfil, you will get Raw Aetherium Crystals. However, if you warp to a new location, complete a new Experiment, and then Exfil from a higher difficulty world, you will get Refined Aetherium Crystals & Flawless Aetherium Crystals.

As the new Refined Aetherium and Flawless Aetherium are considered more potent upgrades, far stronger, they are rarer and thus harder to obtain. You can receive them in both modes, Outbreak and traditional round-based zombies. You receive more Refined Aetherium and Flawless Aetherium for surviving longer wavers in the harder sections of the normal zombies mode. Likewise, in Outbreak, you can receive the crystals for completing more difficult challenges and tasks.

• Refined Aetherium is used for Tier IV upgrades
• Flawless Aetherium is used for Tier V upgrades.
• Both types of Aetherium Crystals can be obtained in both Outbreak and regular zombies.
• To get more of both crystals, complete harder challenges within Outbreak
• Each map has a star icon objective, complete these objectives to get Flawless & Refined
• Successful Exfil rewards greater amounts of Aetherium
