There are two main tasks with all the items needed to open the Dark Aether Rift. You need to first find the item and then you need to transform the item into a legendary item so it works on the Rift. We’ll explain how to complete both of these steps for the Pills item in MWZ below.

Where To Find The Pills In MWZ

You need to find an Infestation, not a stronghold, just a normal Aether Nest is fine. Once you are inside you need to use Brain Rot ammo and shoot one of the cysts. This will turn the cyst a different color, it should turn green. You can then approach the cyst and loot it for the item you need, you get a purple pill bottle.

Once you have the purple pill bottle, find an Aether Tear and head into the sky. Once in the sky you will find another portal, follow that portal through. You will then arrive at a random location and find a nearby unique bounty mission. Kill the target to loot the gold version of the pill bottle.

With all of the items needed to open the Dark Aether Rift, there are two main tasks. You need to first find the item and then you need to transform the item into a legendary item so it works on the Rift. We’ll explain how to complete both of these steps for the Dog Collar in MWZ below.

Where To Find The Dog Collar In MWZ


To get the purple version of the Dog Collar you need to find a Kennel and place a Molotov and piece of meat inside. This will spawn a Hellhound. Kill the Hellhound and it will drop a purple collar. To turn the collar gold, find an Aether Tear and travel into the sky. You will see another portal in the sky, head into that portal. From there, you will find a nearby unique bounty mission. Take the bounty and kill the target. Loot the Aether Reward Portal to find the golden version of the Dog Collar.

Where To Find The Camera Item For Dark Aether Rift In COD Modern Warfare 3 Zombies


To find the camera you need to find the Harvester Orb on the map, these are the floating balls of Aether that drop money when shot. Shoot and kill it with Dead Wire ammo, it changes color after the first hit, and once killed it will drop a Surveillance Camera.

Once you have the camera head through an Aether Tear that takes you into the sky. You will see another portal ahead of you, take that portal. This will take you to a new location which unlocks a special bounty mission nearby. Complete the bounty mission and the Aether Reward Portal will drop a gold version of the camera. You can then place it on the pedestal with the other items.

The first Dark Aether portal is part of the story and you can simply enter when close. Once you have completed that mission, the Dark Aether Portal moves into the Red Zone, specifically on a small island. You then must use and interact with the 4 small pedestals in order to enter the Dark Aether Portal.

Find one of the Aether Orbs on the map, the floating purple orbs that give you cash when you shoot them. Kill it using Dead Wire ammunition and it drops the Camera item. You then take the camera item through an Aether Tear, into a gold portal in the sky, and then complete a special bounty contract.

How To Get Dog Collar

How To Get Dog Collar

How To Get Pills

How To Get Pills
To get the Pills you need to find an Aether Nest and make sure you have Brain Rot ammo on a weapon. Once inside, use the Brain Rot weapon to shoot a Cyst one time. This will turn the Cyst green. You can then approach the Cyst and interact with it to get a purple version of the pill bottle. You will need to interact for a few seconds, so make sure the area is cleared. From there, take an Aether Tear into the sky and follow the next portal through. This will take you to a unique bounty mission. Complete the mission to get the gold version of the item.

Once you have all of the items, you can place them on the pedestals at The Dark Aether Rift. Be warned, once all the items are placed they are lost. This is the hardest content in the game, be prepared.

]]> The first and only mission in Act IV leads you into the Dark Aether. After defeating the final boss in this mission you obtain a Locked Diary. The new mission, introduced to Act IV, is called Bad Signal. It challenges you to locate an anomaly and “leave the dark aether”. This is a simple mission, you just need to head to the exfiltration location and complete the mission. The zombies inside are all Tier 2 zombies, so make sure you go in prepared.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Zombies – Locked Diary

If you were paying close attention during the Bad Signal mission, when you break each of the seals, they reveal a small 3D image of a special item. These represent the items you need in order to open the 4 new sigils on the main map. The Locked Diary is one of those items.
How To Open The Dark Aether Rift In COD Modern Warfare 3 Zombies
When you are on the main map, you can bring The Locked Diary to the location shown above, this is the location of the Dark Aether Portal. You need to approach the pedestal with the ice icon and then use the The Locked Diary from your inventory. This will activate that sigil.

Unfortunately, this appears to be only part of the puzzle as we need to track down the other items. Save your Locked Diary as if you use it on the pedestal, you will lose it. Only use it once you have found the other items. We are trying to locate them now.

Where To Find Special Zombies
Special Zombies are best found in two types of Contracts. Firstly, the Bounty contracts. This will give you the location of a Mimic, Mangler or other special zombie type. However, these don’t always count for quests. The other option are Escort contracts, marked by a small tank-like icon on the map. These usually spawn 2-3 Manglers you can kill.

How To Kill Enemies With Elements (Cryo, Fire etc)
The best way to do this is to find an Exfil spot and activate it, but don’t get on the helicopter. Simply kill all of the enemies in the area using the special ammo type to complete these objectives quickly and easily. This works for special abilities too, or any skill that requires lots of killing.

Where To Find Mimics
The best way to find mimics is the Infected Strongholds. Once you clear out most of the Cysts, a Mimic nearly always spawns and attacks you. Alternatively, you can do Bounty Hunt contracts to find Mimics

Where To Find Special Ammo Types (Napalm. Shatter Blast, Cryo, Brain Rot, Dead Wire)
These are most commonly found in Aether chests and portals. Complete Infected Strongholds, Infestations, and any contract that gives you a reward portal at the end.

How To Pack-A-Punch Weapons
The Pack-A-Punch locations are on the map. You can Pack-A-Punch a weapon to level 1 in the Level 1 threat zone but if you want to Pack-A-Punch a weapon to level 2, you first need to make sure it’s level one and then travel to a Pack-A-Punch location in Threat level 2 or above (the orange area on the map)

How To Get Into Threat Levels 2 & 3
You need to upgrade your weapons, ideally rarity too, to be come stronger to survive in these locations. Pack-A-Punch level 1 works okay in threat level 2 areas but you want to make sure you have Epic+ rarity and Pack-A-Punch level 2 before you try to explore threat level 3.

What Are The Glowing Glyphs For
These are fast travel locations that throw you to random other locations on the map.

These essence containers are present in the game whether or not you have the mission objective, so it’s safe to assume that these are in fixed locations. The Essence of Aether mission asks you to find a container in three different locations, Hamza Bazaar, Rostova Shops, and Quadri Shopping Center.

On the East side of the map you can find Hadiqa Farms. Just South West of the text Hadiqa Farms on the map, there are two large buildings with a tiny central building between them. This is the Hamza Bazaar. Head into the small building between the two buildings and you will find the container on the desk.

Container In Rostova Shops at Levin Resort

Rostova Shops are not technically within the boundaries of Levin Resort. There is a group of buildings to the South East, in the Level 2 threat area, and once you get close the location will update to Rostova Shops. There is a large shop here and you will find the container on a desk inside.

It’s very important that, once you have found the convoy, you make sure the mission is completed before leaving the area. Modern Warfare zombies is a bit buggy at the moment and even if you kill every enemy member of the convoy, it can sometimes not register as completed. Make sure, before you leave the area, both objectives are completed. If it does not register as destroyed, try to disable all of the vehicles.

Where To Find Mercenary Convoy In Modern Warfare 3 Zombies MWZ


There is a giant ring road around the map that travels through both the Level 1 and Level 2 areas. The Convoy can often be found patrolling on this road. There is a specific area, down South on the map, where we had the most luck. Finding the convoy several times in the same location. Check out the video for more details.

As with DMZ in previous Call of Duty games, MWZ brings in a mission system where you are able to select a single mission at the start of each round. Any effort toward completing those objectives only counts if it is set as your active mission. So, if you want to complete the Direct Line mission, make sure to set it as your active mission.

How To Complete Direct Line Mission In COD Modern Warfare 3 MWZ (2023)

There are three main objectives to the Direct Line Mission. You need to Ping a Contact in the Tac Map, Complete a Contract, and Exfil. The first one is easy. Open your map in-game and highlight a contract. You can look at the bottom of the screen for the ping button, it’s different depending on the platform. Make sure to ping it fully and it will complete the first part of the mission.

The next part has to be completed together. You must first find and complete a Contract and then Exfil in the same run. If you Exfil without completing a contract, the Exfil objective will not complete and you will need to start another run with the Direct Line as your active mission again.
