Can You Rescue The Woman Trapped In The Mind Flayer Pod In Baldur's Gate 3
In the prologue for Baldur’s Gate III you find a survivor trapped within the pod. As all good heroes would, you ask yourself can you rescue the woman trapped in the Mind Flayer Pod in Baldur’s Gate 3? The game is filled with many choices and consequences. Some are obvious and have an effect immediately, others take hours or even days before the begin to show consequence. Whatever you decide, make sure you’re prepared to live with it.

UPDATE: This is for Early Access. For release, check our updated guide.

To answer the question in the most simplest of ways possible, no, you cannot rescue the woman trapped inside the Mind Flayer Pod, at least not a way we’ve found. If you inspect the pod, there is an opportunity for an Arcane check. If successful, you are told that there are Warding runes holding the survivor trapped within the Pod. If they are destroyed, it will open and the survivor will be free.

Further choices such as disrupting the bright lines of magic or looking for a latch, will have no effect. We looked everywhere in the Prologue but did not find any Warding Runes to smash. There is however a benefit to interacting with the pod.

She will remember whether or not you attempted to save her while aboard the ship. So if you want that relationship to get off to a positive start, it’s a good idea to attempt to save her, even if it’s not possible.
