There is a lot of randomness involved in grabbing this armor, it can be a little brutal. Remnant: From The Ashes generates each level slightly differently every time you play. This means certain bosses, certain encounters, and certain items, can be very difficult to locate when you are trying to find something specific.
How To Get New Carapace Armor In Remnant: From The Ashes
The most difficult step is locating Hardened Carapace. It’s quite a lengthy explanation so check out our where to find Hardened Carapace guide for the full details. You will need 3 Hardened Carapace to get each piece of the Carapace Armor set. Once you have all three pieces, there are two additional steps.
You need to get the Parasite condition. This is a special condition that is caused by a single enemy, as shown above. They appear on the Swamp of Corsus map, usually in the tunnels and mineshafts in the underground section of the level. When you encounter the enemy, shoot them so their health is at about 25% then let them beat on you. Face them directly, eventually they will grab you. Don’t try to escape the grab, let it complete.
Once the grab is finished you will have the Parasite Condition, reducing your HP to 50%. You then need to find the Brain Bug boss. Once you encounter the boss, as long as you have the Parasite Condition, you can approach it and talk to it.
This is where you trade the Hardened Carapace items for the complete Carapace Armor set.
