After you beat the main story of Attack On Titan 2, you can go back to levels and safe allies that died during the campaign. Attack On Titan 2 Saving Allies Guide
You cannot save them until AFTER you beat the main story.
To save Mina and Thomas you need to redo the mission First Battle. They will still die if you watch the end cut scene but you can save them for everyday life still. After doing some of the side missions in the level you will get a new yellow side mission and that is how you save them. Kill the Titans attacking them and they will be saved.
Head to the mission Primal Roar and you can save Ian and Mitabi. After you clear the Titans attacking Titan Eren, he will start to move a giant rock. Keep clearing out Titans and doing the green side missions and while Eren is moving a yellow flare will pop out. Head over and kill the Titans attacking Ian and Mitabi and they will appear in everyday life.
This is also during the mission Primal Roar. During this mission, Levi and his squad will appear after a cut scene. When they appear a new yellow flare will pop out for Marco. Go over and save Marco from being eaten and he will pop up in everyday life.
For these guys you need to go the the level Choices and Consequences. As you are escorting Eren through the forest a scout will need help. Help the scout and he will put up a base. After this the yellow flare will go into the air and you can go save the entire Levi squad and they will pop up in the city.
Miche can be saved during the mission Beast Titan. This is towards the end of the mission so be sure not to rush the last Titans. YOu need to clear out all the green side missions and a yellow one will appear to help Miche. Go save Miche from the enemy Titans and he will appear in everyday life.
Head to the mission Utgard Castle to save these two from being eaten. During the mission these two will leave you and your mission will be to build bases around the castle. During this, the yellow flare will pop up and you can go save them. This one is a bit different. They need to be escorted to horses and they will leave the area and be saved. They will lead you to the horses, you just have to keep them alive.
Hannes is the last one you can save during the mission Charge. Towards the end of the mission this his flare will pop up if you have done all the green side missions. Go and save him from the Titans and he will be back in town again.
You can create your own character in Attack on Titan 2 but customization doesn't stop there.
