If you make this choice Basim explains the treatise was the most important. His son is angry and tosses his father’s work away, promising it will never see the light of day. You can jump down onto the ground and pick up the treatise.

The son is infuriated and pushes Basim in anger. He accuses Basim of taking his last moments away with his father. He tells Basim he never wants to see him again. While it’s tough to take, this is probably the better choice for the son in the long run.
We did not encounter the son again during our time in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, so it’s unlikely this choice has any lasting effects. We were also not able to find anywhere to sell or use the treatise.
