As you have probably guessed already, the dirt mounds are another form of Gimmick. In Arc of Alchemist, Gimmicks are special parts of the map that require you to solve a puzzle or to use a specific ability in order to interact with the Gimmick to either progress through the area or unlock some cool rewards, items, and materials. The Dirt Mount Gimmick is seen fairly early in the game but when you first discover the dirty covered chests, you lack the ability to clear the dirt.

How To Clear Dirt Mounds In Arc Of Alchemist

You must follow the main story. After a couple of large maps, filled with difficult enemies, you will reach the Abyssal Valley. In this part of the story you are looking for the Great Power alongside another group of rivals. Eventually you will encounter a robot in the story that you are not strong enough to kill. A member of the rival party will sacrifice themselves so that you are your battalion can escape.

The next objective has you returning to this same area except this time, you will be faced with a Sandstorm. Erin will give you a special item as a token of her trust, the Wind Orb. Slot this into your LunaGear and you will have the ability to use the Wind Orbs power. Use the power to blow the dirt away that covers the chest. You are now able to open the chest and claim the loot from within.

Sandstorms in Arc of the Alchemist are part of the Gimmicks mechanic of the game. On nearly every map, as you continue to progress through the main campaign story, you will encounter obstacles that block your path and impede your progress – these obstacles are called Gimmicks. Each Gimmick requires you to solve a short puzzle or utilize elemental orbs in order to activate the Gimmick so that it allows you to continue on your journey,

How To Get Past Sandstorms In Arc Of Alchemist

Wind Orb
Follow on the main story until you reach the Abyssal Valley. It’s quite a large map so it can take some time to progress through. You will see Sandstorms all over here, blocking various paths and progress in a number of locations. When you first encounter Sandstorms, you do not have the ability to get passed them.

Carry on with the story until after the robot fight, it’s a unique robot fight that the story stops you from completing. Shortly after this you will ally with Erin and her friends. It is at this point that you are given another special LunaGear, the Wind Orb.

With this new and exciting power at your disposal you are now able to use the Wind Orb in your LunaGear to clear any Sandstorm that previously blocked your path. And that’s How To Get Past Sandstorms In Arc Of Alchemist.

Arc of the Alchemist features multiple, large, open areas that you can explore. Often this are the path to progress in the story but there’s also a hidden cache of loot, collectibles, items, and materials hidden away behind special Gimmicks. Gimmicks are special names in Arc of Alchemist, given to very specific objectives that block your path. They are miniature puzzles, tasking players with figuring out the correct usage of elements via the LunaGear and special orbs that you can find.

How To Get Past Electricity In Arc Of Alchemist

One of the many Gimmicks you will encounter is a field of lightning, marked by electrical lines zipping across the screen and blocking your path of progress. The electric Gimmick is one of the more unique ones in Arc of Alchemist as it’s unlike the others. Whereas ice can always be melted by fire, mist can always be frozen by water, the method to solving the electric Gimmick puzzles is different every time as the electricity itself is not the Gimmick.

There is a single piece of continuity with the electric Gimmick, a fuse box.

While each electric Gimmick is different, each of them has a fuse box. For this particular puzzle, I had to use my Water orb to freeze some mist so I could pass and find the location of the fuse box. That’s exactly the same for all lightning Gimmicks. Search nearby for a fuse box, paying special attention to other Gimmicks that may hold the route to the fuse box.

In Arc of Alchemist Gimmicks are special interaction options scattered across the map, throughout the entire game. In the initial stages of the game you’re introduced to some basic Gimmicks, a sort of tutorial breaking you in to how the system works. This is first seen early in the game when you use your Fire LunaGear to burn ice surrounding chests and other items. These Gimmicks evolve throughout the game, requiring different LunaGears and sometimes different combinations in order to solve so you can progress.

How To Get Past Mist In Arc Of Alchemist
You need the Water LunaGear before you are able to pass the steam-like mist in Arc of Alchemist. Orbs are special items that can be discovered, granting you new power once you place them into your LunaGear. You need to progress through the main story, following the objectives in the Encroaching Sands. Towards the end of the area, you will encounter an Event on the map. This event has your team discover the Water Orb.

Once you have unlocked the Water Orb, you can use it on a nearby steam vent to stop the steam so you can grab the chest. This is the same for the mist that you discovered earlier in the area. Now you can use the Water Orb on your LunaGear to create a frozen puddle, allowing you to cross the mist with ease.

  • Unlock the Water Orb (map)
  • Travel back to the area of mist (map)
  • Use the Water Orb to turn the mist into ice
